Look at the McDonalds Big Mac Commercial from 1975. I ate a Big Mac yesterday and it looks pretty much the same. The product did not change. The company did.

The Big Mac did not change – everything else around the product did change a lot, and the organisation McDonald was able to evolve and survive.
Wienerwald, my favourite place for lunch as a kid peaked in 1978 with 1.600 restaurants employing over 30.000 people. Do people still eat chicken and fries? Sure they do – but not at Wienerwald.
It’s not the product. It’s not the mousetrap. It’s the evolving organisation that wins.
